Deep Web

Do you think that you are the one who knows everything about the Internet?

Do you think that you are the one who knows each and every websites active on the Internet?

Do you really think that the Internet is just limited to the website like Music, Games, Blogs, Movies, Social Networks, etc,.?

Truth is that you actually know very limited things about these various websites and you also don't know each and every website here on the internet!

Well if still you would say yes, I know very much about the virtual world, I'm a Cyber geek..
Then I would like to tell  you that the knowledge which you have about the Virtual World just contributes to the 4% of the total Internet, popularly called as the Surface Internet.

Yes, the things which we surf on our daily basis is just the 4% of the Internet, which means that the rest 96% is hidden from us!!

Surfing sites related to music, games, videos, blogs, etc are the websites which are accessible through Google and other search engines, all the social networks also come under this category..

You could also say that the worlds most powerful search engine 'Google' holds only 4% of the information of the total internet. There's something beyond the reach of the Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc,. and that something is "The Deep Web".

In the world where Cyber-Crime, Cyber-Terrorism and Cyber-Warfare is very common nowadays, therefore one should know about the Internet perfectly and also should use it carefully.

2-3 months ago, I also didn't knew much about hacking and the only thing which I knew at that time was, the places like Deep Web also exists somewhere in the Internet and also very few people holds a healthy knowledge about it.

This made me curious, very curious and I started searching about Deep Web on the Internet, went through number of articles and also tried to understand that why this Deep Web is hidden and is not accessible through these common search engines.

"Deep Web" or sometimes called "The Hidden Web" is a mysterious place in the cyber space mostly used by Criminals, Hackers, Secret Agencies, etc, which is not accessible by a common man.
Deep Web is a collection of information resources located on the WWW but is not indexed by a search engines.

Now, after reading this much of the article you would be thinking that the Deep Web is related to the criminals, Master-Minds, etc,. Ofcourse it is!!
Where there is 'Anonymity' there's 'Crime'.

Anonymity is the reason which attracts the criminals to go to the Deep Web. Activities like selling drugs, illegal dealing of weapons, contract killing, cyber hacking etc are the most common and famous things here.

If you are a cyber geek then this much of the information would have made you very curious about how to access the Deep Web.
Well its somewhat easy to access the Deep Web, but before accessing it you should ask a question to yourself which is related to your safety..

“How are people tracked on the web and how is it possible to make a user anonymous online?"

Well there are many answers to this question, most famous among which is using a TOR browser (The Onion Router, a system managed by US Naval Research Laboratory from 2004 to 2005 to enable online anonymity).

By using a TOR Client Software, one can easily surf into the TOR Network which is indeed the best way to surf the Deep Web.

For more information on TOR network you can visit wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tor_(anonymity_network)

To download the TOR Client Software visit:

After installing the TOR browser getting lost is very easy, so before entering to the Deep Web make many things very clear.

1. Always keep in mind the references which can help in navigation.

2. There you won't be able to find search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc,.

3. There you will get the URL's suffixed with .onion extensions, instead of ending with .com, .in, .org, etc,.
.onion suffix are used to identify the hidden services on the Internet.

4. Addresses in the .onion pseudo-TLD are 16-character alpha-semi-numeric hashes which are automatically generated based on a public key when the hidden service is configured. These 16-character hashes can be made up of any letter in the alphabet, and decimal digits beginning with 2 and ending with 7, thus representing an 80-bit number in base32.

5. This .onion-URL isn’t used only to refer the hidden service, it also offers service authentication. Only one specific hidden service is associated to this identifier and no one can forge or spoof it because an 80 bit number actually is a part of the hash of the public key of the hidden service and the public key is strongly related to its private key.Now that reader has understood what the meaning for this strange sequence of characters representative of onion addressed, let provide few interesting info that could allow him to move first step in the obscurity of the Deep Web.

The Wikies:

Wikies are most precious resources in the Deep Web, especially for those individuals that have no fixed references for their researches, they are collections of URLs related to various topics arranged in categories to improve the consultation. Most popular, but not the only one is the Hidden Wiki, it is a mine of information and links to allow wide researched in the Deep Web.

The wiki offer an impressive quantity of URLs related to raw contents and discussion pages. The web site appears very friendly to visitors that once located the section of interest, representative of a specific thematic area, could browse to the links listed.

Users could easily find content related to hacking, hacktivism, market places, commercial services and forums and a specific session for services arranged for geographic areas.

TorDir is another precious collection of onion links arranged in various categories such as Business, Hacking and Related and Social. Also, this site is very easy to consult; users can share links registering and adding new ones, the website also proposes a search engine to help users to find resources in the TorNetwork.

Another precious resource is“TorLinks | .onion Link List”, an interesting collection of links organized in categories for a very simple consultation.
